    {"id":2402,"date":"2011-04-26T14:57:38","date_gmt":"2011-04-26T19:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vault217.gmu.edu\/?p=2402"},"modified":"2011-04-26T15:05:10","modified_gmt":"2011-04-26T20:05:10","slug":"gmu-arlington-campus-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vault217.gmu.edu\/?p=2402","title":{"rendered":"GMU Arlington Campus History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few weeks ago SC&amp;A prepared a presentation on the history of the Arlington campus as part of a celebration and open house for the latest addition to the campus: <a href=\"http:\/\/gazette.gmu.edu\/articles\/19172\" target=\"_blank\">Founders Hall<\/a>. While Mason as a whole has a rather brief history, the acquisition and development of the Arlington campus is quite interesting and an important milestone in the University&#8217;s growth and increased prestige on the national stage.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1979, the Arlington Campus began as the home to GMU&#8217;s School of Law. Since that time the campus has changed dramatically and now houses world-class programs such as the <a href=\"http:\/\/icar.gmu.edu\/\" target=\"_self\">Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/policy.gmu.edu\/\" target=\"_self\">School of Public Policy<\/a>.
