    {"id":5189,"date":"2014-12-05T17:06:35","date_gmt":"2014-12-05T22:06:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vault217.gmu.edu\/?p=5189"},"modified":"2014-12-05T17:07:18","modified_gmt":"2014-12-05T22:07:18","slug":"gilbert-sullivan-come-to-mason-libraries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vault217.gmu.edu\/?p=5189","title":{"rendered":"Gilbert &#038; Sullivan Come to Mason Libraries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>George Mason University has announced the intention of benefactor David Stone to bequeath his massive collection on Gilbert and Sullivan to the University Libraries\u2019 Special Collection &amp; Archives.\u00a0 In a Mason News story by Corey Jenkins Schaut at http:\/\/newsdesk.gmu.edu\/2014\/10\/gilbert-sullivan-collection-make-home-mason\/, the collection is described as \u201ca treasure trove of Gilbert and Sullivan memorabilia, from original manuscripts to production materials to letters and personal effects of the two men and their partner, Richard D\u2019Oyly Carte.\u201d\u00a0 The University plans to feature selected Gilbert and Sullivan treasures in occasional exhibitions stating this December.\u00a0 The University Libraries is honored to be the future home of this collection with its inestimable research value for Mason faculty and students as well as scholars world-wide.
